Songwriter Runaround with Katy Vernon and Brad Senne
You can hear a live version of my song "Postcard" on the new One Week Live compilation CD from Beaner Central in Duluth. Atom Robinson accompanies me on bass and his signature harmony vocals. Here's another version of Postcard recorded last year in Iowa City with Stacey Webster and Patrick Bloom backing me up.
Supporting Barbara Jean
There is a lot happening this winter. In addition to a full band show at the Aster in February, I'll be playing several shows supporting singer, songwriter, and banjo & fiddle player Barbara Jean, who recently relocated to Minneapolis from the North Woods. And, since our first Songwriter Runaround was such a success, we'll be holding another on March 10th. Check out the "Dates" page for details.
I will be launching a new concert series featuring AMAZING local songwriters call the Songwriter Runaround. Our first show will be 6 January, 2013 at 7pm at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall and will feature Brianna Lane and Blake Thomas. The first set will include mini sets from Brianna, Blake, and me. Then we'll take the stage together for a songwriter-in-the-round set, and we'll trade songs and song topics.
Benefit concert for the Englert Theatre
I have been asked to play a benefit concert for the Englert Theatre in Iowa City with my friends the Feralings. The concert is on Saturday, October 20th and will run from 8:00 - 10:00. Seating is limited and will be set up on stage, so you can experience this concert in a unique and intimate way. Tickets will be $10 and you can buy them here. The Feralings will play a set and then they will back me up as I play a set. Please join us!

Video of Dave’s performance on Java Blend
Dave Olson performs No October, the title track from his new album on IPR's Java Blend radio program. He is backed by Patrick Bloom (upright bass) and Stacy Webster (guitar) of the Feralings.
IPR’s Java Blend
Hello Iowa City friends! I will be performing live on April 27th at the Java House at 2 p.m. for IPR's Java Blend show with host Ben Kieffer. Some of the folks from the Iowa City band the Feralings will bravely back me up. It will be free and fun, and it will be a good preview of our upcoming CD release party at the Mill on May 20th...
Broken Hearts and Love Letters
Just found this great song by Erik Koskinen on Youtube. No October connections abound: This was recorded in the barn where I tracked my album. The drummer in this video is Richard, who produced and played drums on my record. Erik himself played on a couple songs. And finally, that guitar Erik is playing looks a lot like one that Molly Maher lent me to record some songs with. VERY cool.
